He was described as a successful Premier during the crisis in Kosova, where more than 450 000 Kosovar refugees were sheltered in Albania. His engagement in politics began with the students' movement of December '90, when he was elected as representative at the meeting with former President Ramiz Alia. Majko is one of the founders of the Euro-socialist Forum (FRESSH), while in May of '92, was elected chairman of the FRESSH, an office which he held until the summer of 1995. After this year he was elected Public Relations Secretary in the SP and later its Secretary General. After the June 29, 1997 elections he was elected head of the Socialist parliamentary Group, an office which he held until September 1998 when he was elected Albania's Premier and led the Government for one year. Pandeli Majko is married and has two children«.

He has been qualified as a successful Premier during the Kosova crisis, when Albanian gave shelter to more than 450 thousand Kosova refugees. His participation in politics starts with the Student Movement of December 1990, when Majko was elected as a representative in the meeting held with the former President Ramiz Alia. Mr Majko is one of the founders of the Euro-Socialist Youth Forum (FRESSH), while in May 1992 Mr Majko was elected chairman of FRESSH, post which he held until spring 1995. After this year Mr Majko was appointed Secretary for Public Relations in the Socialist Party, and later also its Secretary General. In the Meta cabinet, Mr Majko had the post of the Defence Minister. In April 2002 Mr Majko was reappointed by the GLC to the post of the Prime Minister, post which he resigned from only a few days ago, opening the way to the creation of the new cabinet.
